Day 07- A picture of something that has the...
Going vegan (over five years ago) is the best thing I’ve ever done in my life. It changed my life and my view of the world, and it makes me so happy to be ethically conscious.

Debunking Popular Anti-Choice Myths
Often times anti-choicers will use misinformation and biased sources to turn people onto their way of thinking. I wanted to take this opportunity to debunk a number of popular anti-choice myths using statistics and studies from non-biased sources. Myth: Pro-choice really just means pro-abortion Fact: Pro-choice activists fight for much more than just abortion rights. The basis of the...

Who You Callin' Vegangelical? →
From the article: “To pick and choose species in terms of whose pain we care about is incredibly hypocritical and inconsistent. Sorry, but if you’re eating veal parmigiana or turkey sandwiches, you don’t really care about animals. You may care about dogs and cats but you certainly don’t care about birds and baby cows…. The reality is that veganism...

Day 05- A picture of somewhere you’ve been
Me in Times Square. This picture was taken 10 years ago! When I was there, I saw “Annie Get Your Gun” (marquee on the left) and “Cabaret” (billboard in the middle right). Bernadette Peters was starring as Annie Oakley, and Lea Thompson (of Back to the Future fame) was starring as Sally Bowles. Bernadette Peters’ voice was UH-MAZING, and “Cabaret” is one...

Day 04- A habit that you wish you didn’t have
Eating ice! I have munched on ice since I was a kid. I know it’s not good for your teeth (and I’ve tried to cut back on my ice munching), but something about the feeling of crunching ice with your teeth just feels so satisfying. Now I want a rainbow snow cone. Which reminds me, I totally had one of these Snoopy Sno-Cone machines as a kid!

Day 03- A picture of you and your friends
I thought about posting pics of me with a bunch of friends from the clinic where I worked in Atlanta, because I became friends with some of the most awesome/amazing/funny/cool/compassionate people when I was working there. However, I didn’t think they’d want me to just post their pictures on a public website. The reason? Sadly, this is the kind of thing you have to think about when...

Day 02- The meaning behind your Tumblr name (part...
So, it’s time to explain the second part of my tumblr name: “vegan”. I am vegan for ethical reasons, as opposed to dietary, religious and/or environmental reasons. (FYI, veganism is better for the environment and your health!) I wouldn’t eat my cat (or a dog), so I don’t eat cows, pigs, or chickens. I don’t consume animal products, either. Let’s take milk...

Day 02- The meaning behind your Tumblr name (part...
I decided to create two posts so that I can use each of them to explain my tumblr name: “godless vegan”. To explain the “godless” part, I am posting the following definition of atheism, which I think is wonderful and very much the way I see the world. I don’t love that it was written using only the word “men”, but, hey- it is from 1963. :) Source: ...

Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting...
1.    I have been vegan for almost five and a half years, and I became vegetarian twelve years ago. 2.    I grew up in Atlanta. 3.    I took gymnastics as a kid, and I can still do a split, a cartwheel, and walk on my hands (though not very far). 4.    I was a cheerleader in 8th grade. 5.    I love animals, and I had several different kinds of companion animals growing up. I had dogs and cats,...

Six Minute Story: Scars →
I wrote this story in six minutes. I wrote it on a website called…you guessed it: “6 Minute Stories”. You are only given a photo as a prompt, and you are timed and cannot write anything else (or edit!) when your time is up. It is quite an amazing experience.
